The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has spoken about the current situation of the opposition as well as the preparations for next year's general elections.
Basha said that the identification of candidates for MPs will start soon. He added that within May, the official Democratic Party will organize a programmatic Assembly.
"The Democratic Party will start the identification of candidates for deputies. In May, we will organize a programmatic Assembly, where we will reveal the political and governing program of the DP", said Basha.
Asked about the division between the Democrats, Basha said that there is a Democratic Party and a part that overlapped the interests of the Democrats for a personal agenda, referring to the Reestablishment.
He stated that there can be no mechanical mergers, but the merger with DP happens through principles such as electoral reform, attitude towards justice and partnership with the West.
"We have a DP and a part that overlapped the interests of the Democrats for a personal agenda. The way out of this situation happens by uniting the forces around the public interest and that of the democrats. It is not about mechanical joints. The union of DP is done through principles, electoral reform, attitude towards justice and partnership with the West. We are open here," Basha told News 24.
