A day after joining Berisha's group, the head of the opposition group, Gazment Bardhi and deputy Flamur Noka, went together for the first time in Shkodër for almost 2 years of chaos within the party.
They have met with the DP structures in the Municipality of Shkodra where the focus is the unification of the democrats.
For Bardhi, the process of unification has taken place, while for the group of deputies of Basha, he says that they are following the wrong path, while an invitation is extended to them for unification. According to him, every democrat should be at war with Edi Rama and not the opposition, while he says that if they choose another path, they do not represent the DP.
"The union has happened, there is a small part of the democrats who are still on the wrong path and I find the opportunity from Shkodra to invite them to join the PD, the battle against Rama. Their way of being in front of the opposition and not in front of Rama, in our opinion, is the wrong way, it does not help either Albania or the democrats.
There will be a meltdown on the basis of the Democrats without any discussion. Democrats are united even at the grassroots, our tour is intended to absorb the few Democrats who are in our judgment astray. They should be with us in front of Rama, not in front of the opposition," Bardhi told reporters.
From the first stop in the city of Shkodra, Bardhi was asked by journalists if he already knows Sali Berisha as chairman.
For this, Bardhi says that he respects the decision of the majority of members.
"This is clear in all the answers I have given. As long as the majority of the members have chosen me and everyone must respect the will of the majority of the party members", said Bardhi.
Bardhi also responded to the statement of PD chairman Lulzim Basha that "from the USA, he ended up down Sala Street", referring to the protests under the apartment of Sali Berisha, who is under house arrest.
"No answer, I don't have time to waste on worthless jokes. I am where the democrats are", said Bardhi to the media, as he further added: "I believe that everyone should be in the DP, I don't want you to divide the democrats into groups. Each of them has a place in the Democratic Party, alongside the Democrats in front of Rama. Whoever chooses another path does not represent PD", said Bardhi.
For Bardhi, the tour of meetings with the base started from Shkodra, which he describes as a 'symbol' of the continuous attacks by the government, which according to him has deformed the will of the citizens in the elections of May 14, 2023, where for the first time this municipality was won by the socialists.
"For the symbol it represents, but also the PD branch of Shkodra, which has been part of a continuous attack by the government and criminal groups until they managed to distort the will of the citizens in the local elections. There was no other alternative to start this tour of uniting the democrats at the grassroots, after the union of the leadership of the DP", said Bardhi to the media.
Together with the deputies of this district, Noka e Bardhi will hold meetings with the structures of Shkodra, Malësi i Madhe and Vau i Deja.
The tour will then continue in Elbasan and Korçë. In these meetings, which seem to resemble a unification campaign, the action outside the parliament will be discussed, such as the protest of February 20, which will now be joined by the deputies of Gazment Bardhi.
