The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a statement to the media outside the Parliament premises, accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of acting in the service of personal and family interests.
He emphasized that the AKSH file constitutes, according to him, one of the most serious and criminal cases, directly linking it to the prime minister's family.
He directly mentioned the name of businessman Armand Frangu, claiming that tenders at AKSHI were geared towards winning by him. According to Berisha, this was also confirmed by a testimony from Gerond Meçe, who, according to him, stated that the company “ABS”, although registered in his name, actually belongs to Frangu.
Berisha also included accusations against the prime minister's wife, Linda Rama, referring to Meçe's testimony, according to which "Linda is the patron of AKSHI." Berisha accused "Linda of Surrel" of hiding behind the name mentioned in the file, suggesting family involvement and conflict of interest in the management of public tenders.
He added that none of these people, including Armand Frangu, Edi Rama or Linda Rama – have been called for questioning, despite the fact that, according to him, their names appear in the file.
"Edi Rama only thinks about himself and his family. I am here to denounce the mutilation that is being done to the AKSHI file. The AKSHI file is one of the ugliest, most criminal files in the history of the country. The AKSHI file is the file that Rama's family and Edi Rama have robbed of hundreds of millions of euros. AKSHI is the first public agency of the Albanian state, in whose competition several people were taken hostage, because of the tenders because Armand Frangu was supposed to win. AKSHI is the agency, for which Edi Rama, with a 2017 government decision, focused the national tenders in the field of technology on AKSHI. Two years ago I read information received from the Prosecutor's Office, in which Gerond Mece, registered, tells the interlocutor that the abs company is not my company, but Armand Frangu's, despite the fact that it is in my name and that Linda is the patroness of AKSHI, Linda of Surrel.
"Have you seen Linda of Surrel summoned, this is in the file? Have you seen Armand Frangu summoned? Have you seen Edi Rama summoned?! We are dealing with a process that broke out due to the merit of Gerond Meçe, who escaped to an embassy. There is also another citizen who has testified. Even Daniel, who is an enigmatic and problematic person. But he, according to some media sources, has also given chilling testimony. The focus remains on Mirlinda, for whom Rama became a public lawyer. Can a high-ranking official come forward and defend one Linda in a complete conflict of interest when another Linda was hiding behind her. This is public fraud and is punishable by 5 years and more and we will send him to court for public fraud. Public fraud with a conflict of interest inside," said Berisha.
