"From AKSHI to Thumanë-Kashar", Kapri: 33 million euros stolen
"Mundësia" party MP, Erald Kapri

"Mundësia" party MP Erald Kapri has raised concerns in the Assembly regarding the cancellation of interpellations with the Minister of Agriculture and Prime Minister Edi Rama, describing this as an obstacle to the exercise of parliamentary control.

During his speech, Kapri emphasized that the fact that some issues are under investigation should not serve as a reason to prevent interpellations in the Assembly.

"For IPARD funds, the interpellation with Prime Minister Rama on data protection in relation to KSHI and Air Albania has also been canceled. So it has been canceled for us. Every major project of this government is under investigation. But we have not been allowed to interpellate. There is no logic in denying the interpellation. Even for Thuman Kashar we have two and a half years and it is not being done. The minister and the government must be held accountable here. And they cannot stop the parliament because the issue is under investigation. We want to make our interpellations as the Constitution deems it," he said.

The MP also accused the government of misusing funds, emphasizing that the request for interpellation should be accepted and addressed in the Assembly.

"33 million euros have been stolen and misused in Albania. Former senior SP officials, family members who received IPARD funds have a duty to return them. Over a year has passed since the funds should have been distributed and there can be no IPARD 3 without this problem being solved. Without returning 33 million euros, there can be no other funds for Albanian farmers. We do not know what the prosecution will do, but the government is not providing any solution. The government's task should have been simple: take the money and give it to the farmers. But it has been misused and stolen," he said.
