Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has today accused Minister Belinda Balluku and Prime Minister Rama of selling electricity at ridiculous prices.
According to Berisha, KESH is selling off-exchange at a price 30 euros cheaper than the Tirana stock exchange and about 60 euros cheaper than the Vienna stock exchange.
"I guarantee you that Albania fully disposes of these funds, but this requires the government not to steal as it is stealing from Albanian citizens, not to abuse taxes and public assets.
This requires Albania to build public works at the same prices that are built in the EU, I am not saying cheaper. But not 8 times more expensive. This requires Albania to put an end to this terrible theft of energy. Every day in Rama-Balluku, they sell electricity, this public asset of the Albanians, at ridiculous prices compared to the stock market prices. At a time when they inaugurated the energy exchange. Nothing passes through the stock market. Even yesterday, they are selling off the stock exchange at a price 30 euros cheaper than the Tirana stock exchange and about 60 euros cheaper than the Vienna stock exchange. It is expected that in the next 2-3 days they will sell a massive amount of energy because the dams are full," said Berisha.
