The head of LZHK Dashamir Shehi has proposed the creation of a third opposition pole, which will be able to compete independently in the parliamentary elections of 2025, without any prior agreement with Berisha, Bardhi or Basha.
Focusing on the internal clashes between the Democrats, in an interview for 'A2CNN', Shehi said that the time when people went after the leader is over.
" I am for a third line. Which means that I judge that neither Berisha nor Basha can be the opposition leader of all. Of course, they somehow lead their own house. They all have God's right to do this work and do this work as they see fit. But this is not all the opposition. There is another opposition that does not think like these gentlemen. For pragmatic effects but also for real political struggle, I think that the day has come to find a third way within the Albanian opposition and for us to enter the elections independently ," he said.
According to Shehi, his former colleagues Sali Berisha and Lulzim Basha cannot become the leader of the entire opposition, as there is a mass that sees politics differently from their vision.
Those who love Berisha will go with Berisha, those who love Basha will go with Basha . Those who love others, who do not like either Basha or Berisha, where will they go because they are half of the opposition? In order to gather all these people, which can be a more progressive measure, another current and another political platform is needed. The idea of uniting around one boss, one leader no longer works. That these were the leaders, Basha was the last 10-15 years, Berisha historically ", said Shehi.
In order to show the formation with which the 3-4 opposition groups would line up in the elections in front of Rama, Shehi chose a well-known formula.
According to him, the example to be followed is the Italian right, which in the parliamentary elections was divided into several political formations. After the elections, the most voted party that resulted "Brothers of Italy" of Giorgia Meloni took the Prime Ministership, while Berlusconi and Salvini share the other ministerial positions between them.
" Now the need has come and I take as a model to simplify the political scene, what happened in Italy. In Italy there were 3-4 political groups. The rightists entered an independent race, the race ended, whoever was the biggest got the Prime Ministership, the others have shared power together. But the alliance is made after the elections, because we don't need this third group to keep the change of others. We are competing with each other, all together against the Socialist Party, this government that has been abusing for 12 years. This is the formula. Only in this way can the opposition succeed ", he declared.
Contrary to what has been articulated before that the division of the opposition into several groups would favor Rama, Shehi argued that this is not the real problem.
This is because, for the head of LZHK, it is important that Albanians feel represented and that the "small" opposition parties do not have to bear the burden of the mistakes of the leaders who have to pay for them.
" It doesn't matter if they became 3 or 4 parties, 4 are in Italy and nothing has happened to them, they are governing. There is no need for a completely false union, when we think quite differently from each other. We don't have to carry each other's responsibilities. Whoever has to pay should pay, Albanians don't have to pay. Those others who definitely want the leadership, who say come on, gather behind me, I think that this time is over and it only harms Albania and favors Edi Rama ", concluded Shehi.
