The Supreme Court has set the date of April 9 for the court hearing on the request of the former prime minister, Sali Berisha, for freedom from the "house arrest" measure.
The session will be held at 13:30 on April 9, a Criminal Panel with judge Sokol Binaj as relator will examine the recourse made by the former prime minister in the Counseling Chamber.
In the Supreme Court, Berisha requests the annulment of the decision of the First Instance and the Special Appeal for the tightening of the security measure against him in "house arrest".
The former prime minister is under investigation for "corruption" for the privatization of the former club Partizani, during the time he was prime minister.
It is suspected that he favored his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi, who is also under house arrest, in the benefit of the land properties.
A few days ago, the Special Court of Appeal rejected his request to participate in the plenary sessions in the Assembly, in function of his mandate as a deputy.
