The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, on Wednesday afternoon closed the campaign in the Korça district with a rally, where he conveyed the next message for the May 11 elections.
Berisha emphasized that May 11th separates two eras, to once and for all remove the 12-year regime that expelled the people of Korçë and Albanians from the country.
The democratic leader considered the candidates of the "Great Albania Alliance" coalition who will represent the Korça district in the new Parliament to be excellent, while he called on citizens to punish Edi Rama and the Socialist Party with their votes.
"Four days separate us from a day that actually separates two eras for us Albanians: it separates the era in which we, a people who suffered under the most Stalinist dictatorship, on our path to freedom, had an accident like no other nation. We experienced 12 years of narco-dictatorship. We experienced in 12 years the establishment of a regime that did everything to suppress pluralism in Korça and Albania, to suppress the opposition in Korça and Albania. It did everything to rob the people of Korça and the Albanians. It did everything to expel them from their country.
Every wise Korçar and Korçar woman who closes her eyes and thinks about these 12 years will find that Korça is a place of hope, a wonderful city, famous for its gifts, for its culture, for its patriotism, for its working spirit, its creative spirit, for its cleanliness, for everything. The farmers of Korça, men and women, are among the most efficient, among the most skilled. Likewise, those of Devoll, Pogradec, Erseka.
In 12 years, they left Korça, Erseka, Pogradec, Devolli, perhaps like never before in their history. They left, not because they did not want Korça, Pogradec, Devolli or Erseka. On the contrary, with the great wealth of this region, with amazing, fantastic lakes, not only for the Balkans, Europe. With its farmers among the most capable that can exist. With its distinguished intellectuals. With its artists, with its singers, with its writers, with its elite, Korça is just to be admired.
Yes, they left because, year after year, the economic decline became greater. Because, year after year, prices increased.
Because, year after year, jobs were closed.
Because there was no longer enough food for the family members. There was no longer anything to share.
Because the produce remained in the field.
Because the sick no longer had medicine to treat them. Health centers were destroyed.
What happened in Korça 12 years ago for the citizens?
Think about it.
