The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has gone to SPAK, to implement the "obligation to appear" measure that the GJKKO Appeal decided for him last week.
Berisha will have to appear at the prosecutor's office on Monday of the first and last week in SPAK. He will appear today to sign, as he has mobilized the militants in the protest. Today it will also be decided whether or not the "Partizani" file will go to trial.
Three weeks ago, SPAK appealed in the Special Appeal the release of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha from house arrest and requested the reinstatement of the measure. Berisha was released on November 27, 2024 after being under house arrest for about 1 year, after being accused of being involved in the "Partizani" file.
Sali Berisha was charged with passive corruption as he is accused by SPAK of having taken concrete actions in approving laws and bylaws, to adapt them according to the needs of the five owner families in the Partizani sports complex, where his son-in-law, Jamarbër, was also a beneficiary. Maltez.
In parallel with Berisha's appearance at the GJKKO, the preliminary hearing for the Partizani case file is held, where Judge Davidhi is expected to decide whether or not to go to trial, which would make Berisha the highest official of the Albanian state in 34 years of democracy, which comes out in a process court as an official defendant for corruption.
The security measure for Berisha was reinstated on January 3, 2025 by the judge of the Special Appeal, Engert Pëllumbi. We remind you that the first measure of obligation to appear earlier given by judge Irena Gjoka was not implemented by Berisha, which forced SPAK to request the toughening of the measure to "house arrest", thus ending up in house arrest for 11 months, since December 30, 2023 to November 27, 2024.
