Evi Kokalari, the Albanian-American activist, has reacted through a post on social networks regarding the invitation that US President Donald Trump has sent to Prime Minister Edi Rama, to become part of the "Peace Board" for Gaza. And while some world leaders have rejected the condition of paying 1 billion dollars in cash to have a seat on the Board, in Albania the invitation is being treated as a trophy that the Prime Minister has received from the US President.
Kokalari in her reaction states that "if Edi Rama has not signed to give 1 billion dollars in cash in the first year, understand that he has invested abundantly by "forgiving" Sazan and other areas. Also, there is an agreement with the Emirates for the 2 billion euro project on the coast of Durrës, which is criticized for lack of transparency and fiscal favorability".
"If Rama really believes that these "idiotic things" will raise his values, let me remind him that there are no medals or idiotic contracts that can change his reputation damaged by corruption allegations."
As such, it is extremely necessary for Rama to urgently make public what he has signed with this invitation, and above all, to make public the agreements with the Emirates, which are cooperation contracts that he cannot approve and sign himself without going through Parliament," writes Kokalari.

Edi Rama finally published the invitation letter from Trump to join the Gaza Peace Board...
But Edi Rama leaves out many details.
First, according to reports by Bloomberg and other international media outlets such as Middle East Eye, The Times of India and The Straits Times, the invitation has been sent to many countries, including Albania, Brazil, Cyprus, Hungary, Italy, Romania, India, Argentina and Canada. This is not an exclusive honor as Rama presents it, but a broad call to participate in a Trump initiative for the reconstruction and interim governance of Gaza.
Read Rama's letter for yourself. On the second page, Trump refers to the "board charter" and the comprehensive plan for this project. Trump even emphasizes that the state, in our case, Albania under Rama's leadership, must sign the board charter to become part of the founding board. So, there is a clear contract here, and to become part of it, you must sign and accept its terms.
According to Bloomberg and other reports, one of the main conditions is a contribution of $1 billion in the first year to the "Peace Board" fund, which will be overseen by Trump himself and his team, including Jared Kushner. The White House has clarified that the $1 billion is not required to initially join, but to remain on the board beyond the first 3 years, a distinction that does not change the essence: the financial commitment is mandatory for full participation.
What Trump is doing these days is a topic for long discussions, but Edi Rama, if this is such a great honor, would have published this news first in X where foreigners follow him, including other leaders of states. Why does he need to show it only to us, and not to his foreign colleagues?
Unless, perhaps, his colleagues have received the same invitation and declined it.
In fact, reports indicate that Israel has rejected this board (and rightly so, according to some analysts).

Critics accuse him of conflicts of interest, as his fund Affinity Partners has received billions of dollars from sovereign wealth funds of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Emirates.
