The deputy of the Democratic Party, Dashnor Sula, has reacted through a post after the cyber attack on the Albanian Institute of Statistics. Sula has requested the redo of the census, stressing that it is no longer reliable.
According to him, INSTAT has violated the deadlines for the publication of the Census result and while everyone was waiting for the official figures to see how empty Albania is, "Iranian Hackers" attack INSTAT.
The Democrat casts doubt on the news of INSTAT hacking, stressing that this story reeks of corruption.
"The census is no longer reliable, redo it!
INSTAT has violated the deadlines for the publication of the Census results. Meanwhile, while we were all waiting to see how little we have left in Albania, while we were all waiting for confirmation with official figures on how Albania has been emptied, "Iranian Hackers" attack INSTAT and according to what they say on their Telegram channel, have accessed every data that INSTAT has.
First: after that, any results I might get later from INSTAT for the census are unreliable. Therefore, the data collection process must be repeated.
Second: I'm no tech expert, but from the actions it seems like this Iranian Hacker story is smelling. How is it possible that hackers attack certain institutions when they are in trouble or something important is expected of them. Aren't these attacks coordinated to destroy evidence and facts? Are "Iranian Hackers" being used as a political and legal shield? I repeat that I am not an expert in this field, but there is room for doubt, so SPAK should also take this seriously.
How is it possible that when millions of euros are spent on cyber security, Albania has no institution left standing without being defeated by "hackers"?
How is it possible that private institutions have turned out to be more prepared?
This story reeks of corruption!" , writes Sula.
