The Democratic Party of Albania MP for the Elbasan District, Dashnor Sula, risks not running in the May 11 elections for MP. After being left out of the DP lists, Sula was included in the lists filed with the CEC on behalf of the 'Albania Becomes Initiative' coalition led by Endri Shabani and Adriatik Lapaj.
Before being included in the Elbasan District list of this coalition, Sula had also held negotiations with the other coalition led by Dash Shehi and Enkelejd Alibeaj.
Meanwhile, today Sali Berisha called on Dashnor Sula to reconsider his stance on competing with those whom the Democrat leader describes as the 'opposition of the opposition.' Berisha's call seemed like an invitation to Sula to return to the open list of the DP.
On A2Cnn, Endri Shabani said that the reason that Dashnor Sula's name circulated on the lists was due to a preliminary discussion that took place after Sula withdrew from the DP lists.
He added that despite the failure to reach an agreement, he maintains a special respect for several DP deputies, including Dash Sula, as well as for the head of the LZHK, Mr. Dashamir Shehi.
" We want to consolidate justice. Everyone who supports SPAK is welcome. Everyone who supports the race in Albanian society is welcome to join. Everyone who was not part of the gang that stole Albania is welcome to join. Dashnor Sula will not be part of our lists.
He does not have a name, there was a preliminary discussion and that is why his name appeared on the list. Personally, I have appreciated the work of Mr. Dash Sula, who is one of the only ones who has spoken for the farmers, who has spoken in favor of SPAK.
