Dashamir Shehit's party, LZHK, has filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court regarding the recent changes to the Electoral Code.
The lawsuit was signed by Dashamir Shehi, in the capacity of the chairman of LZHK, and was submitted by lawyer Rezart Kthupi.
"I submitted the request-lawsuit aimed at repealing that part of the electoral code that violated what was the biggest political discourse, that of open lists. We have asked the Court to repeal that part that finally closes the lists in the worst version compared to 2021 and to examine the procedural issue of how this law was approved. In our judgment, the issue of open lists is the key moment that can bring change and democratization of political parties and the interest of citizens", said the lawyer.
Small parties did not agree with the changes in the Electoral Code, but due to different legal opinions, they decided to make separate lawsuits.
