Democratic deputy Dashnor Sula has stated that he left the meeting of the leadership of the Democratic Party, where the date for the election of the new chairman was set, after his proposal and that of many deputies and others, to postpone the meeting so that all the proposals to come up with a new platform, were not considered.
In an interview for "Euronews Albani", he showed that he had proposed that even though the two former leaders of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha and Lulzim Basha had their contributions to the party, they were still the cause of the division of the Democrats and cannot to bring the union again, so a new candidate must emerge to lead the Democratic Party.
" In the last moments from 1-1:30, Mr. Jemin Gjana, Mr. Roland Bejko, or Mrs. Godole, were very close to the proposals and I myself made a proposal and Mr. Bardhi and Mrs. Tabaku were discussing to postpone the meeting of the presidency for 24 hours so that all proposals could be included in a platform and then voted on. I, Mr. Korreshin, Mr. Gështenja, Mrs. Tabaku and several others, said that Mr. Berisha and Mr. Basha, who are also responsible for this situation, we have seen that neither of them can unite the Democratic Party, I proposed that even though these two people have a great contribution to DP, we need new candidates to take part in the next elections ", said MP Sula.
