The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, showed this evening the behind-the-scenes of the meeting held two days ago in the DP, which was followed by tensions and threats from militants outside the doors of the hall.
In an interview for the show "Log" on "Panorama TV", Bardhi said that at the moment when he took the floor in the meeting, some colleagues, members of the presidency tried to prevent him from taking the floor.
He said that there was a rush by a group of deputies to vote on July 15 as the election day for the new chairman of the Democratic Party.
" We debated for about 9 hours and the whole event is about acts that happened outside the hall where the meeting takes place at the headquarters of the Democratic Party in the outside environment. I must first clarify the position I had at the party leadership meeting and the reasons why I left. Before the presidency convenes, the parliamentary group is convened.
The discussion is focused on both proposed platforms. I was of the opinion, together with some colleagues who were present at the meeting, that we should discuss the merits of these proposals. Other colleagues have been active in finding a way to remove the DP presidency with a unanimous decision. When I had taken the floor and was the last to speak, some members of the presidency who were in a hurry to vote on a version blocked the floor even though each of them had spoken 20 times during the meeting and I had only taken notes. This is an undeniable fact. The meeting with the chairmanship is recorded with audio. There was no tension in the meeting, the tension created when Bejko said he took note of the positions and found a formula that aligns them. I asked for explanations for his proposal.
I had interference from some colleagues to prevent me from speaking. There was a rush to vote while we were not done. The name is not important, but the truth of what happened.
