Lawyer Spartak Ngjela has spoken about the arrest of the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako. According to him, Dako has been a very important figure for the SP and a person close to Prime Minister Edi Rama.
" They are big mayors. Step by step, a great corruption is being proven in Albania. The bigger the municipality, the bigger the corruption. Meanwhile, Dako is not mayor, but he was. With both accusations, that of forgery contains something more than forgery in case it is proven ", said Ngjela.
Lawyer Ngjela said that the fact that he was not arrested before May 14, shows that they were cautious because it would damage the process in Durrës.
" Are the accusations also related to a monetary benefit of the Mayor as a result of the violations?" This remains to be proven. House arrest cannot be given because there are two criminal offenses for which it is not known how the investigation will go.
He was not arrested before the elections because the socialist image in Durrës was damaged.
The fact that this is declared as a close friend of Rama, and he does not need to explain that he was the mayor of Durrës. And the question is thus, that precisely for this important figure of the SP comes the accusation and arrests him. If Rama had the strength, they would not have arrested him. This shows that SPAK has no connection with Rama ", Ngjela said in a show.
