The head of the LZHK, Dashamir Shehi, has stated that given recent developments, there are good premises for changes within political parties and he is optimistic about a change in Albanian politics during 2026.
According to Shehi, changes will come from within the parties, allowing a new generation to take their place and express their ideas, without being influenced by the traditional hierarchy. He emphasizes that such internal reflection is essential to improving Albanian politics and creating more balanced institutions.
Shehi also noted that the current political system needs radical changes, citing the 2008 agreement and the electoral law as factors that have given too much power to party leaders and limited the freedom of MPs.
" It is likely that a dialectic will open within the political parties, all those people who are there, in the Socialist Party there are 83 deputies, not only them because there are others in the party, valuable ones who will speak, react, change this matter too, because until now it has not been... they are all dumb, and on the other hand the same thing. A new generation will be liberated, not simply for age, but for different ideas, people who say what is on their mind and not what the boss says. This is the first premise, but in order to advance and change Albanian politics, some things that are fundamental must be changed. Who produced this political system? The 2008 agreement produced it, the change in the Constitution, the disruption of the balance between institutions and this electoral law that has given the power to party leaders to make their deputies slaves. Why do they stay there? Because they are on the list, someone who has a different voice is off the list and he is signal to those others: if you speak you stay outside, stay quiet to stay inside. Kete qyrrsin e kam pase ne shkollen Fasn Noli. Te gjithe ne djemte ishim ndare ne, cuna idiote qe ishin fryre me pompe nga prinderit e u bene asgje, pordhacet e kishin te veshur ndonje placke me te mire se te tjeret, ne te thjeshtet qe benin "zullume" e "sherre" e nuk po vazhdoj me tej se do shkruaj nje liber madheshtor nje dite. Ky tip muti ishte i vetmuar gjithmone ne nje cep te murit qe ndante shkollen me shtepine e ish zengjini ku jetonte Todi Lubonja e i biri tij moshatar me ne ishte nje kokerr kastraveci qe e ndihmonin mesiesit qe ishin te tere pjelle "kulakesh" e i trajtonin femijet e oficereve me nota minus 2 me te verteten. Si nuk e pashe njehere kete zhele me nje shok por gjithnje i vetmuar e me syte pa kuptim e drejtim? Jam ndjerer shume keq per te vjelle kur e kam pare qyrrsin qullac neper podiume qe lehte. Fatkeqesia me e madhe e kombit Shqiptar eshte se duke qene popull i zgjuar nuk mendon gjate e historikisht ia ka mbathur te shohe jeten e vet e perderisa Atdheu me shiti, bye bye o qyrrsat e Atdheut. Femijet tane me diploma Oxford, Cambridge, Harward, te edukuar e qyteteruar jane me te vertete nder e krenari per kombin si Fan Noli, Faik Konica qe thane nje shprehje te arte "Shqiperi te kam dhjere..." Kurre nuk do te behet Shqiperia me zagare qe e kane mendjen vetem te qoftja, pilafi, rakia e ciftelia.
