The corridors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are buzzing with rumors these days, and not without reason.
It had never happened until today that a hearing for the appointment of an ambassador failed because the candidate seeking to take this post did not appear because the state - in other words in Albanian, the employer that, after all, this candidate must fills his mind to win the job - requires business class travel, 5-star hotel and other conditions paid for by the state, in order to "honor with his presence" the hearing experts.
The interview has therefore failed, because a name completely unrelated to Albanian diplomacy, but which, by order of Bablok, has been predetermined to be the Ambassador of Albania to the United Kingdom, did not wish to appear.
But, in the corridors of Albanian diplomacy, it is shown with surprise that despite this, an individual named Uran Ferizi, who has never lived a day in Albania, has neither education nor career in diplomacy, will represent Albania in one of the main centers of world diplomacy.
But where did this strange candidacy come from that has stirred the waters and paved the way, not without right, for conspiracy theories and underground connections of Edi Rama.
Uran Ferizi was born in Albania in 1981, originally from Kosovo, and the only thing that can be said for sure about him is that; after he got tired of the academic life, thanks to the strange connections with the Albanian Bablok, he chose to be the ambassador of Albania and, since from here on the border they told him "don't let this deal be broken", he is ready to take the job. He would even probably be on the President's desk for a signature if this last-minute spoiling had not happened, which, in exchange for the interview, required Business Class tickets and luxury hotels to stay.
In the biography submitted to the ministry, it is stated that Uran Ferizi graduated in 2007 in Mathematics from the University of Oxford, completed his Master's studies in Biomedical Engineering and in 2014 completed his doctoral studies in Mathematical Modeling, at University College, London, in the Department of Computer Science and the Institute of Neurology, with the topic, "Model selection for brain data obtained from diffusion-MRI".
The first years, after graduation, the candidate for Ambassador of Albania, has a career in various companies with a financial direction and then followed a career fully focused in the field of scientific research.
No trace of diplomatic training. None!
