Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has spoken openly about the SPAK investigations and the treatment of his cases in the media and justice system.
Invited to 'Çim Peka LIVE' on SYRI TV, Ahmetaj denounced Altin Dumani for violence against his family and friends, as well as the selective and unfair manner of the investigations against him. Ahmetaj emphasized that the accusations against him are unfounded and that throughout his career he has defended the interests of the state, opposing dubious concessions and projects such as incinerators, the Vlora airport and Thuman-Kashari.
He has also mentioned manipulations and pressures within SPAK, criticizing the standards of justice and the treatment of him and his collaborators.

-The term used today by the head of SPAK was not correct, when he invited you to become a collaborator. But there is a possibility that you can give your testimony and this is done through the 'salaried' commission, the Criminal Procedure Code recognizes such a thing, or by letter of recommendation. Would you be interested in taking such a step?
Arben Ahmetaj: I have come out and denounced. Every time I denounce, he destroys my family and my friends. He has not left my friends without massacre, without trying to force them to join me. What he has not done to my family, he has destroyed. He has sent my mother to a place where she should not be for another 100 years. He has turned tobacco into food for me. What can I do now?
He says I have personal things, he didn't ask me when I went there. I took them one by one. Becket, McGonigal, 'Tigrat', Thuman-Kashar, the tunnel, I warned about the Vlora airport and there are others that I will tell in the next interview, in 2-3 months.
What is this guy looking for now? We have case after case of this wanted man and Edi Rama's justice. When you're inside, you get a fever and can't see the light. Why is he making fun of Albanians now? That's how they like it, statistics.
I went to the interview and SPAK violently attacked the judges, they took the decision of the Constitutional Court which says that the seizures against me are illegal and orders them to do what they have to do. The Court of Appeals for 5 minutes with 1 session, on Saturday, says that we will not change the decision, when the case is over.
These are 10 standards, this is not justice, that Albanians aspire to.
Ask Altin Dumani a question. This is an investigation that he himself started from 'a to z', about criminal organizations in Albania. Zero, on the contrary, but we will say it in the next interview. I say it again, it is a cannon to be made, to add accusations, to fabricate as Edi Rama did, who ordered the government; find this one, because I did nothing. The only mistake I have made in life, and that I regret is the naive trust beyond 100% that I had.
What do I regret? That I opposed the VAT concession, because it was criminal.
What do I regret? That I opposed incinerators. No, I don't regret it.
That I opposed the format of the Vlora airport. No, I don't regret it anymore.
That I said that Thuman-Kashar should not be done like that, no, I do not regret it. The only thing I regret is that I had unlimited trust and love, almost brotherly with a knife in my hand, towards all the people around me.
Remember, a few weeks ago I released the minutes of the 'Buka' case to the media, where prosecutor Elvin Gogaj must answer one day. These people must become collaborators, show who pushed them, because I know, but let the Albanians hear it from their own mouths.
At the hearing, he says two serious things. The first is that if Ben Ahmetaj were innocent, he would not be wandering the streets of Europe, but would come here. I would come there so that he would not get out of prison alive. I will come there, but I will tell you everything, I will defend myself, so that the truth comes out and I will definitely come.
There is no presumption of innocence, because they have a habit of arresting lawyers during the hearing.
The second one says that the accusation that Arben Ahmetaj has damaged the interests of the state is a slip of the tongue. Come on, you didn't leave the media without telling them that the damage Arben Ahmetaj has done was 7 million. The truth is the opposite. The truth is that Arben Ahmetaj has protected the interests of the state. If I made the mistake and broke the law, today the private sector would be eating the money that belongs to Albanians. The private sector eats its own money, the state's money has gone to the budget. That's the whole story of that, it's ridiculous. And he comes out and says, he's welcome to become an accomplice. For what crime?
