Lawyer Alesia Balliu has issued strong accusations against the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, following the statement of the British ambassador to Tirana, Nicholas Abbott, regarding the declaration of the former prime minister as "persona non grata".
Through a reaction on social media, Balliu, who intended to run for president of the Democratic Party but was excluded from the race, referred to the British ambassador's statement that the "non grata" declaration against Berisha is not political, but legal.
Addressing Berisha directly, she asked him to stop misleading the Democrats with claims that international sanctions would be lifted.
" The British ambassador spoke clearly: Sali Berisha's 'non grata' is not political, but legal. You have been declared corrupt, Berisha. That's why you have deceived the democrats enough with tales that he will be removed today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow ," Balliu writes.
She also accused Berisha and his circle of holding a part of the Democratic Party hostage for years through propaganda and lies, with the aim of preserving power and personal interests.
