Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, during a media conference from the DP headquarters, condemned the execution of judge Astrit Kalaja, while emphasizing that this murder rises to the level of a state crime and proves the extreme level of insecurity in the Albanian narco-state.
"While maintaining full sensitivity to reactions that I like or dislike in general and in particular to the specific case, I want to reiterate my firm stance that I never agree with the taking of life and even more so the execution of officials in office for any reason, therefore I have condemned and condemn with the greatest force the execution of Judge Kalaja in the courtroom and again express my condolences to the Kalaja family," Berisha said.
He further stated that the public execution in the courtroom of Judge Kalaja, as if it were in a city cafe or tavern, proves the extreme level of insecurity in Albania, the first and only narco-state in Europe.
"In this context, the murder in the courtroom of Judge Kalaja rises to the level of a state crime, and this is not because the bullets were fired by the state, but because the murder occurred in the complete absence of all state responsibilities and obligations, even the most minimal ones for the protection of the lives and activities of state officials within their institutions.
"This has only one explanation, the replacement of the state and the law with Malice," Berisha said.
