Elvis Rroshi, the former socialist mayor of Kavaja, who for a long time was the target of attacks by the Democratic Party, is today collecting votes for this party.
Rroshi, who lost his mayoral mandate as a result of the decriminalization law and even faced criminal charges, surprised today when he called on voters in the Tirana district on social media to vote for Elton Rroshi, his cousin.
Rroshi is on the open lists of the 'Alliance for a Greater Albania' coalition led by the Democratic Party.
The former socialist mayor has posted on social media the campaign poster of Elton Rroshi, whose uncle he is.
Berisha justified the selection of Elton RRoshi as a candidate for MP, saying that the cousin is not guilty of what former local official Elvis RRoshi, who was excluded from politics through the decriminalization law, did.
"A cousin is not a sinner for a cousin. What is this candidate's name? Elton... With Elvis, being related by blood is another thing, but there is no connection, this is not a criterion for candidates. Even Edi Rama has two cousins, one of whom accuses us of property grabbing and the other he makes prefect to grab property", - Berisha expressed.
