While they are in opposition and often articulate criticism of the economy and welfare, some opposition MPs appear to have increased or consolidated their assets during 2024, according to statements in the ILDKPI.
One of the most extensive portfolios is presented by Edmond Haxhinasto, who declares several real estate properties, including a 174 m2 apartment worth 16,296,000 lekë, another of 52.46 m2 worth 489,570 lekë and a 90.60 m2 apartment worth 1,600,000 lekë. He also owns a vehicle worth 26,000 euros, shares and a cash balance of 9,000 euros.
On the other hand, MP Elda Hoti declares a vehicle worth 14,600 euros, while in the case of Flamur Noka, a donation of 12,350 euros to his son is recorded.
Meanwhile, Belind Këlliçi presents a combination of assets that includes an orchard worth 470,000 lek, road vehicles worth 22,500 Canadian dollars, as well as bank accounts in foreign currencies, specifically 44,131.15 euros and 25,685.58 dollars. The declaration also includes an apartment in the name of his cohabitant.
This data shows that, despite their position in the opposition, some MPs continue to have considerable wealth or increase their assets, mainly through inheritances, savings and previous investments.
However, the declarations do not always provide a complete picture of the sources of creation of certain assets or their evolution over the years, leaving room for further analysis and transparency on the assets of public officials. /Pamphlet
