Here is the wealth of ministers that Rama appointed in recent years...
While September is expected to bring changes to the government cabinet, the asset declarations of newly appointed ministers shed light on a reality where wealth and power go hand in hand.
ILDKPI data shows a clear picture: precious gifts, rental income, millions in banks and large loans.
Below, "Pamphlet" is publishing the assets of ministers who were appointed in 2023 and 2024, while later we will publish the assets of veteran ministers.
The Minister of Interior, Ervin Hoxha, has declared to the HIDAA for 2024 that he has been provided with an apartment and garage in Tirana, both with a "donation" source of creation.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Pirro Vengu has collected thousands of euros from rent alone. In addition to his salary as a minister and from his previous duties, his wife has benefited from high incomes as an advisor and board member.
Blendi Gonxhja, Minister of Economy and Culture, appears as one of the most financially powerful figures. In addition to having millions of lek in his bank account, he has given a hefty loan of 15.3 million lek and has considerable income from the family business and rents. His two sons also appear with deposits and gifts in large amounts.
In first place for considerable wealth is Petrit Malaj, Minister of Finance, with a 132 m² apartment and high values in his bank account, although he is burdened with a loan of 8 million lek.
Foreign Minister Igli Hasani has several bank accounts in euros and lek, as well as additional foreign currency income from various international activities.
Arbjan Mazniku, Minister for Local Government, declares a series of bank accounts, some reduced and some increased, while his wife has benefited from income from party positions and boards. He also appears to be exposed to several bank loans.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu, has significantly increased her bank balance. Her husband has added an apartment to his ownership and high income from positions in the administration and state enterprises.
These wealth declarations come at a time when the "Rama 3" government is expected to experience significant reconfigurations. Many of these ministers appointed during 2023-2024 may not find themselves in the new cabinet, but their wealth remains a clear reflection of the benefits that power brings to Albania. /Pamphlet
