The former Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, commenting on the political developments related to justice, said that the judges who are judging the file for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha are under a lot of pressure from the government and the international factor.
In a television interview, Manjani said that the judges are being asked to make a decision against Berisha that cannot be made.
While according to him, the Justice Reform has failed, since 60% of isolated persons are in custody without a court decision.
" This is a story that has been left at their door. I feel sorry for the judges there because they are under tremendous pressure, they are asked to make a decision that is not made. It will take a lot to overturn the prosecutor's request. They are the prosecutors of America, of Europe, of Rama, of Biden, and they are not the only ones of Albania. It is also the Albanians who say to take the cow from someone else. 60% of those isolated today are in detention without a court decision.
Anyone who has 2 brains in their head and will understand what happened with the Justice Reform, look at the prisons, 60% of the prisoners are in custody without a court decision. Why is pretrial detention a measure of imprisonment? Because Rama said prison, prison, prison. Of the 5,200 people who are in prison today, 3,100 are pre-detained, according to the official figure. This is much more serious than the person Sali Berisha and Edi Rama. It is a beautiful failure, because the Albanian people love everyone in prison" , said Manjani in "Euronews".
