The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, is holding his next speech with the Democrats in front of the Prime Minister's Office building.
Berisha focused on the February 20 protest, considering it a culminating moment of civic resistance.
According to Berisha, the protest constitutes "the most powerful peaceful uprising that Albania has known since that of February 20, 1991."
"It was the day of your triumph. Of civic courage, the triumph of citizens' responsibility towards the country and the nation. The whole of Tirana was in the hands of the citizens," he declared to his supporters.
Berisha described participation in the protest as a "noble" act and a "high ideal" in the battle against the current government.
Berisha: Invincible missionaries of resistance to a regime that steals, impoverishes, humiliates and expels from Albania, every hour, every day, the citizens of this country. There is no nobler decision, no higher ideal than the battle against this regime that has entangled the body of Albania. The most powerful peaceful uprising that Albania has known since February 20, 1991.
It was the day of your triumph. Of civic courage, the triumph of citizens' responsibility towards the country and the nation. The whole of Tirana was in the hands of the citizens, who terrified this criminal organization clique headed by Edi Rama. For its crimes it deserves centuries, centuries, centuries of prison and punishment.
