The Democratic Party has decided to return Arben Ristan to the CEC. He has been proposed to be part of the Regulatory Commission.
The deadline for applications for the 5 vacant positions ends on Wednesday and so far 6 candidates have applied.
Ristani, who was the chairman of the CEC, seems to have returned to the scene. The second name proposed by the DP is Helga Vukaj, who is currently part of this commission.
On the other hand, the Socialist Party has positioned safe names, such as Ilirjana Nano, currently chairwoman of the Regulatory Commission, and Dritan Çakaj, current member. Another name proposed by the majority is Bledar Skënderi, former member of the CEC until 2020.
Ristani has held several important public positions. He was the chairman of the CEC during the 2011 elections, then an MP and secretary general of the Democratic Party.
