The deputy of the Democratic Party, Agron Gjekmarkaj, has openly attacked Basha. He has stated that his return is personal interest and desire to remain in politics and survive as long as possible to serve himself.
"There is no longer a PD, there is a seal and some offices for rent and about 100 people at Basha's disposal, as many people as gather at an engagement or a birthday. They simply have a will, or investment in Mr. Basha. It is a delegitimized Presidency. His return is self-interest, and the desire to remain in politics and survive as long as possible to serve himself. An unbridled ego to give life to a thing that is dying only for personal ego," he said.
In an interview for 'News 24' Gjekmarkaj also said that the July 29 elections are an attempt by Basha to get "the last rags from something that is disappearing".
"After a ruined party, I see an attempt to grab the last rags of something that is disappearing, the official DP, and Basha is doing it with the 29th election, with a small group of people who have no connection to reality, but they are related to Basha", said Gjekmarkaj.
He describes the meeting of the Council as a strange meeting, as he adds that the elections on July 29 will be funny.
"It was a strange meeting. They gathered in a hotel to create legitimacy from nothing, it is a party without structures, everything is crippled, on July 29 it will be funny and comical and you will see how many people will vote for Basha. But it damages the opposition", said the deputy.
Regarding the candidacy of Gjergj Hani against Basha, the MP says that this is a surrogate race that kills the desire to participate in politics and forces people to leave the country.
"I don't know him, but it is a funny and decomposed thing in relation to the expectation that the people have towards the opposition. It is trying to be divided into small kiosks and each one opens a coffee shop, but this does not serve anyone. DP needs a real race, this is a surrogate race, to kill the desire to engage in politics and force people to leave this country", he said.
