A day after the Constitutional Court suspended the Rama-Meloni agreement, the first official reaction from Rome has arrived.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said from Brussels, where the EU-Western Balkans summit was being held, that he was not concerned about the suspension by the Albanian court of the agreement between Rome and Tirana for the establishment of two centers run by Italians in our country.
"I am not worried," Tajani told reporters on the sidelines of the meeting before the EPP summit in Brussels, reports Ansa.it.
"I think it is a legal issue that will be resolved quickly, but it is not up to us to comment on the decisions of the court of a country that is a candidate for membership in the European Union."
The Constitutional Court decided to suspend the ratification of the agreement between Rama and Melon for the immigrant camp by the Parliament of Albania, while agreeing to review the lawsuit of 30 opposition deputies.
The ratification in the Assembly of the agreement between the government of Albania and Italy for an immigrant processing center in Gjadër should be automatically suspended until the final decision of the Constitutional Court, after the Court's acceptance of the lawsuit by the opposition MPs.
