Politician Agron Duka and MP Fatmir Mediu, leaders of two of the opposition parties in alliance with Sali Berisha's Democratic Party, paid their respects at the funeral ceremony for former Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano.
In a statement to the media, PAA leader Agron Duka said that Fatos Nano died at the moment his brain stopped functioning, while once again showing the close friendship he had with Nano.
"I had a very close friendship with Nano. We have known each other since 2000, we have wonderful memories together. I am reminded of Dr. Solis's expression, Nano died when the best thing in his body died, his brain. Every person has his own strengths, Nano had his brain. When his brain died, Nano died," said Duka.
Meanwhile, the head of the PR, Fatmir Mediu, said that Nano will always be remembered as a politician of tolerance, a worthy opponent and a man with great contributions to the political life of Albania.
"I will remember Nano as a man of thought and tolerance. An opponent with whom you had to think deeply when debating and undoubtedly with contributions to the entire political life of this country. No one is perfect, but Fatos Nano had the tolerance that not many Albanian politicians have," said Mediu.
