Tomorrow is a day of mourning and a state ceremony will be organized to bid the final farewell to former Prime Minister Fatos Nano.
In an interview with Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, Pandeli Majko, successor to Fatos Nano, recalls the political and human activity of the historical leader of his party.
Majko gives this definition for the man who modernized the Socialist Party and handed over the baton to Edi Rama to change the party and win the elections. " Controversial, ironic, wise, or as I sometimes jokingly said, Thanas' mouth, his father's, but Maria's heart ."

How much did his liberal and ironic style influence the formation of a new political culture within the Socialist Party?
" This may seem a bit strange, but I think that in terms of the formation of authorities within the SP, Fatos' imprisonment, in addition to the problems it created, also created a premise that many authorities were created that created their own profile, I don't know if this would have happened if Fatos, with his charisma, were out of prison. If I could consider something good from this evil that befell him and his family, I think I would consider this, and this is the reason why today they can talk much more and the memories about him are especially related to the creation of a series of figures within the ranks of the left, who solidly guaranteed continuity even after his departure from the SP", said Majko.
How would you define Nano's contribution to the SP and the Albanian transition?
" Very important and I believe that tomorrow all of us, those who have known him from near and far, will follow the most important period for post-'90 politics ," said Majko.
Do you think Nano left this world with a very big legacy that he never managed to become president of the Republic?
" I'll tell you with an example from what my father told me... when you're a pilot and you've flown very high, it's a little difficult to get used to the ground ," said Majko./TCH
