The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, continued his speech at the opposition protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, addressing the citizens in a defiant tone towards Prime Minister Edi Rama. He said that the protest participants are on the right path and assured them that the opposition will not back down.
" We are here today, I am convinced that we are right. Some ask 'what will these people do?' - I tell them: we will die, we will live for freedom ," declared Berisha.
He emphasized that the opposition has always been on the side of the citizens and that it has never lost when it has set out with the motive of change.
" A handful of thieves, drug traffickers, can never trample on our dignity and our future. Forget it! We have come out and we will not stop ," he added.
Berisha sent a direct message to Rama, warning him of escalating political action:
"Don't forget this Edi Rama. The square is ours, and wherever you are, we will not separate. We will not separate even in Surrel. Open your eyes and look at these people. Let's march towards Surrel!"
Sali Berisha: We are here today, I am convinced that we are right. Not without reason, there are citizens here in the square, there are others who follow us and say: what are they going to do? This has happened, what are they going to do?
I say to those who ask: you are very right about the question, but I give you my word that we will do it... we will die, we will live for freedom! That is proven with us. And know well, when we have acted with this motive, we have never lost. We have won, we will win!
A handful of thieves can never trample on us. A handful of thieves, drug traffickers, can never trample on our dignity, trample on our future, tarnish Albania, drive us out of Albania. Never! No, no! Forget it. We have come out into the open.
Don't forget this, Edi Rama! The square is ours. Wherever you are, we will not leave you. We will not leave you here. I give you my word: we will not leave you even in Surrel. Open your eyes, look at these people. Let's march towards Surrel! Yes, yes, I tell you!
He has declared war on us. We declare war on him! He has declared war on the Albanians. We declare war on the enemy!
