Ibsen Elezi: No one within the DP comes out against Berisha, they are afraid of

Analyst Ibsen Elezi said that the distortion of the electoral process in Albania begins long before citizens head to the ballot boxes.

According to him, the lack of impunity and the cooperation of structures with political actors are among the main causes that have led the country into a deep democratic crisis.

Elezi praised the work of SPAK, emphasizing that accusations against the institution as biased do not hold up. He stated that the blame for the election loss cannot be placed solely on others, but is also linked to the opposition's inability to build a credible alternative.

The analyst said that many figures within the opposition do not react to Sali Berisha, not because of political beliefs, but out of fear of “political beheading.” According to him, this servile behavior hinders the building of a true and integrity-based opposition, which can offer a real alternative for the country.

"This process is first deformed before we go to the ballot box. This should have been punished in time, the courage of the structures that are tasked with pursuing such a crime. Many of those who are looking for it are parties to this deformation. It makes no sense to say we lost the elections because SPAK is with Rama. SPAK has best proven that Rama's government is a government with many arrested officials. SPAK has given a great favor in public opinion to the opposition, then how much the opposition uses it is something else. You can never win by accusing the other, you have to give your version too. They accuse each other with empty accusations, they have accusations without facts. They have introduced this society into an absurdity, so that society seems like something normal. The crime of vote theft is the most serious crime, because it violates state formation.

"I stick to the principle that our clashes in the country are internal clashes. For us to complain to Europe because we cannot practice democracy is ridiculous. Europe has made up its mind about what to do with Albania because of geopolitics, they want to bring it into the EU. The entire political system must be changed and this must come from the opposition. If you want to talk about morality, you must first have it. They do not stand up to Berisha because they are afraid of being politically humiliated. There is no voice against it in the DP, everyone is servile to Sali Berisha," he told "Abc News".
