Today in Tirana, the opening of the European College was inaugurated, where EU leaders participated.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that symbolically this will accompany Albania towards the EU.
During her speech, Von der Leyen said that this is a great gift that the EU is giving to Albania.
"Prime Minister Rama said why the College of Europe should not have a branch in Tirana. From that moment I said what a fantastic idea, It took us 9 months to get here. Thank you Federica. This is a special moment and for me it represents Europe at its best. In this college of Europe, we will have students from Albania, the EU, the Balkans.
Young people will talk about the transformation that the EU has undergone, they will be the future ambassadors of changes in the EU. This will be the third branch of the College of Europe.
The second campus was opened in Poland in 1990 and symbolically accompanied Poland and other countries towards the EU and I am sure that the same thing will happen with Albania.
This campus is a great gift from Europe to Albania. But not only this, but a great gift that Albania is giving to Europe. In this modern place full of energy. Thank you for welcoming us here as College Europe ", said Ursula von der Leyen.
