PD MP Gazment Bardhi has reacted after McGonigal's trial in the US, where the name of Prime Minister Edi Rama is mentioned 11 times in the file.
We remind you that the former FBI agent, Charles McGonigal, accepted all the charges for his connections with Albania.
Bardhi says that SPAK must act urgently on the file that also mentions Prime Minister Rama because the crime is the same as in the USA as in Albania.

On January 24, 2023, I reported to SPAK Edi Rama on the American file of the former high official of the FBI, Charles McGonigal. He has served Edi Rama for his political interests and, as a reward, he has been paid by Edi Rama with black money.
McGonigal's admission of guilt, explaining that he created the relationship with Edi Rama for business purposes, makes an urgent response from Albanian justice.
American justice has proven and the former FBI official has admitted that in the meeting with Edi Rama in September 2017, he had shown interest in a very large concession in the oil field, with indirect links to the Russian oil giant GAZPROM.
6 months after this meeting, in March 2018, the Ministry of Energy announced the winner for the concession of three oil fields in the south of Albania, the company Transoil Group AG, associated with McGonigal's friends.
The Albanian courts have concluded that the selection of the company in the concession of three oil fields in the south of Albania was carried out under favoritism and violation of equality in the tender.
SPAK has the obligation to inform the public about the stage of the investigation on this issue. Albanians have the right to know whether or not SPAK has requested the file data from the American justice system, as well as to respond to citizens' expectations for equality before the law.
The mutual exchange of favors between Edi Rama and McGonigal is the same crime as in the USA, as well as in Albania. SPAK must prove to us that no one is above the law! Nobody! Including Edi Rama!", writes Gazment Bardhi.
McGonigal has admitted that he received 225 thousand dollars from the former agent of the Albanian secret service, Agron Nezaj, to lobby against the leader of the opposition, Lulzim Basha, and that he met the head of the Albanian government, Edi Ramë.
The former agent appeared in court yesterday, pleading guilty in exchange for a lesser sentence. In the agreement that was reached, McGonigal has shown everything, from the visits to Tirana, meetings, secret conversations, etc. In the already made public file, the name of the head of the government is mentioned 11 times. In part of it, it is highlighted that McGonigal has benefited from expenses covered trips to Tirana, Kosovo and Bosnia, expenses that appear to have been covered by an Albanian, while the meetings with Rama appear to have been organized by another Albanian, who is described as Rama's "informal advisor".
