This is who will sink Shkëlzeni Saliu, the two key witnesses ready to

The re-investigation of the Gërdec affair risks bringing a storm within the "Berisha" family, where the first one who is only one step away from prison is the son of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Shkëlzen Berisha.

On Friday, September 8 of this month, the Special Court accepted the request of the former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, for an ordinary trial in the process for the Gërdec tragedy, withdrawing from the earlier decision for a shortened trial. The decision came after the former minister Mediu, accused of "abuse of duty", on July 18 withdrew the previously made request for a summary trial, while among other things, three days ago he presented to the Special Court a list of 90 witnesses. who wants to be interrogated. The list starts with the former deputy secretary of the US Department of Defense Gordon England and continues with former ministers of defense in Germany and Italy, former NATO officials in Tirana, former ministers of defense in the Albanian government, officials and former - army officials.

Under these conditions, it is learned that on September 22, the court will restart the process from the beginning where it is expected to read the prosecution's request for trial and then, the lawyers will be heard for the judicial confrontation with the prosecution for each page of the file. But the reopening of the Gërdec tragedy, where 26 citizens were killed and hundreds of others were injured, already known throughout Europe and identified with the name of Sali Berisha, is one of those events that directly involves family members of Sali Berisha, while the workshop of death was raised with the latter's permission to make money for the family. Sali Berisha's son, Shkëlzen Berisha, remotely ran the death business in Gërdec. So the re-opening of investigations by SPAK is expected to open "Pandora's Box". Two key witnesses who can sink the "Berisha" family for the "Gërdec" tragedy will appear on stage. But who are these witnesses and what evidence do they have in their hands that implicate Shkëlzen Berisha? The former secretary of Aldo Bumçi, with the initials AA and the former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and Luan Hoxha can shake the positions of the son of the former prime minister, who has been referred to by the nickname "boy with shark eyes", in the book "Weapons and guns", by the well-known New York Times journalist Guy Lawson, who recounts the scandal of Albanian arms trafficking to Afghanistan and the terrible explosion in Gërdec.

Apart from Fatmir Mediu, who is the headliner, the latest SPAK investigations have focused on Shkëlzen Berisha and the former Minister of Justice, Aldo Bumçi. The latter, from the testimonies and interceptions, shows that he was reporting to Shkëlzen Berisha about the government's decision on the death workshop, where weapons were dismantled. The former Minister of Justice, Aldo Bumçi, sent a fax to Gërdec at the address of the Ministry of Defense, at the address of Shkëlzen Berisha. It is not yet known where Aldo Bumçi based this decision, that is, to start the official letters addressed to the children of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. Aldo Bumçi himself denied this fact, but very soon it was discovered, after Bumçi's secretary confirmed the fact at the prosecutor's office.

However, Bumçi did not report to Shkëlzen only via fax, but also directly. The meetings are confirmed by a secret report that the US embassy in Tirana sent to the US State Department. "In a testimony, the secretary of the Minister of Justice, Aldo Bumçi, told about at least two meetings between Bumçi and Shkëlzen in 2007. And when she was asked about a letter that Bumçi sent to Mediu for the approval of the draft law that would pave the way for the demolitions in Gërdec, she confirmed that Bumçi had written on the cover "For Shkëlzen Berisha". After this testimony, Bumçi, still an MP (and a Democratic Party attack hound), accused his former secretary of defamation and sued her. Frightened, the secretary publicly declared that the testimony had been falsified", says the American embassy cable. And actually Bumçi sued his secretary. "There is no charge of defamation, there is a charge of perjury, which is a criminal offense. Perjury before Judicial Police officers. A false testimony does not need to be started with a report, but it can be started and mainly, and the prosecution is aware of this report, of this false testimony, since July 2008", declared Bumçi.

Everyone reported to Shkëlzeni

The American embassy reported to DASH that everyone reported to Shkëlzen. "The leaked phone records reveal that only a few hours after March 15, 2008, when the explosion happened in Gërdec, the Minister of Defense, Mediu, called Berisha's son four times. Further, Mihal Delijorgji, owner of Albademil (the company that worked in Gërdec) called Shkëlzen just 30 minutes after the explosion. From January to the day of the explosion, Delijorgji called Shkëlzen 56 times. In addition, notes from the secretaries of the Ministry of Defense were confiscated, which show that during 2007 and 2008 former/minister Mediu had frequent meetings with Shkëlzen. In a meeting, it is said that Shkëlzeni requested that Mediu increase the rate of supply of ammunition to Gërdec", the Kabllogram said.

Sekretarja e Bumçit mban iniciale A.A.

After that, pressure arrived via phone from a 'young guy', who was later confirmed as Shkëlzen Berisha, the prime minister's son, who ordered him to continue the delivery of high-caliber ammunition to Gërdec, "without any delay". Asked if he had reported this information to the General Prosecutor's Office, Hoxha answered "yes", he had given all the information and documents to the investigators, with the exception of the information related to Berisha's son. On this he said he did not feel safe to speak. The ambassador told him that if the prosecution's investigations will be successful, those who know the truth must speak openly. Hoxha agreed that in the interest of justice he should speak openly, but he did not confirm that he would do so. (note: Hoxha said that there are many others who know this information). / Today
