Under these conditions, it is learned that on September 22, the court will restart the process from the beginning where it is expected to read the prosecution's request for trial and then, the lawyers will be heard for the judicial confrontation with the prosecution for each page of the file. But the reopening of the Gërdec tragedy, where 26 citizens were killed and hundreds of others were injured, already known throughout Europe and identified with the name of Sali Berisha, is one of those events that directly involves family members of Sali Berisha, while the workshop of death was raised with the latter's permission to make money for the family. Sali Berisha's son, Shkëlzen Berisha, remotely ran the death business in Gërdec. So the re-opening of investigations by SPAK is expected to open "Pandora's Box". Two key witnesses who can sink the "Berisha" family for the "Gërdec" tragedy will appear on stage. But who are these witnesses and what evidence do they have in their hands that implicate Shkëlzen Berisha? The former secretary of Aldo Bumçi, with the initials AA and the former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and Luan Hoxha can shake the positions of the son of the former prime minister, who has been referred to by the nickname "boy with shark eyes", in the book "Weapons and guns", by the well-known New York Times journalist Guy Lawson, who recounts the scandal of Albanian arms trafficking to Afghanistan and the terrible explosion in Gërdec.
Apart from Fatmir Mediu, who is the headliner, the latest SPAK investigations have focused on Shkëlzen Berisha and the former Minister of Justice, Aldo Bumçi. The latter, from the testimonies and interceptions, shows that he was reporting to Shkëlzen Berisha about the government's decision on the death workshop, where weapons were dismantled. The former Minister of Justice, Aldo Bumçi, sent a fax to Gërdec at the address of the Ministry of Defense, at the address of Shkëlzen Berisha. It is not yet known where Aldo Bumçi based this decision, that is, to start the official letters addressed to the children of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. After this testimony, Bumçi, still an MP (and a Democratic Party attack hound), accused his former secretary of defamation and sued her. Frightened, the secretary publicly declared that the testimony had been falsified", says the American embassy cable. And actually Bumçi sued his secretary. Një tjetër dëshmitar që mund të fundosë Shkëlzen Berishën është dhe Luan Hoxha. Një kabllogram i Wikileaks tregon një raportim të Ambasadës në Tiranë për DASH, lidhur me atë që ndodhi në Gërdec. Kabllogrami i klasifikuar sekret raporton një bisedë në Ambasadë mes ambasadorit, stafit të ngushtë të tij dhe ish-shefit të Shtabit të Ushtrisë, Luan Hoxha. Ky i fundit thotë se Shkëlzen Berisha e ka kërcënuar dhe shton se ish-ministri Mediu ka ndjekur gjithë procesin në detaje. “…Në një takim të kërkuar me ambasadorin, Hoxha tregoi historinë e tij që qëndronte pas shkarkimit që iu bë kohët e fundit duke e lidhur këtë me shpërthimin e Gërdecit. Në ndryshim nga ish-ministri i Mbrojtjes, Fatmir Mediu, i cili nëpërmjet deklaratave publike u vë fajin operativëve të ushtrisë për Gërdecin, Hoxha deklaroi në Ambasadë se që nga fillimi se ish-ministri Mediu ka marrë të gjitha vendimet, nga zgjedhja e Gërdecit si vend për shkatërrimin e municioneve, deri tek llojet e municioneve që do të shkatërroheshin dhe planifikimi i kohës se kur do të bëhej shkatërrimi. Hoxha pranoi se stafit të tij ishte thënë të transportonte municionin në atë vend dhe të ruante vendin, asgjë më tepër.
