As the mockery he made of President Donald Trump, during a conversation with the presidents of France and Azerbaijan, took hold, Prime Minister Edi Rama has rushed to undo the 'damage' caused by a "bad" joke.
Placing the main blame on the media for distorting his words, Rama, through a post on the social network "X", justified that the sentence was nothing more than a joke between friends taken out of context.
"It is truly extraordinary how the media works today and how so-called 'virality' can distort reality so easily. A sentence said in good humor, in the spirit of friendship, suddenly becomes a major global headline for an entire summit between dozens of nations, while everything else, the real content, becomes irrelevant ," Rama said.
Embarrassed by the virality of his video with Macron and the Azerbaijani president, Rama tries to present the situation as normal, but the words he himself wrote seem to betray him. While he says that he does not mind that the video has become big, below he writes two paragraphs of praise and eulogies for the greatness of President Trump.
