Begaj says it was a proud moment when Trump told him in English, "Albania is doing a great job."
The head of state said that this expression is based on the strategic relations and long-standing friendship between the two countries. 'Under the Trump administration, relations between the US and Albania in terms of cooperation, especially in the economic field, will be strengthened,' said Begaj.

President Begaj: I speak little in general, but I do not lack the desire to be present at any event, especially if I miss the opportunity to be present on Top Channel.
Grida Duma: President, I will start with the big thing because I have repeatedly emphasized to our audience the importance of the international to the national. The importance that small Albania has in the way it approaches its big allies because we see that whatever happens in our national politics is, we are saying, 50-60% affected by what the big ones have thought, decided, and influenced for us for hundreds of years.
We would like it to be different, it is not different, we face this reality with as much dignity as we can. You were at the United Nations Assembly, it is the largest international political forum, I will ask once about what most of them who are young want to know when they meet Trump, what happens? What vibe is it? That Donald Trump, even when he meets any of the politicians who have some kind of charisma, does things that I don't want to say now, sometimes acceptable, sometimes surprising in the arena of diplomacy. How was the meeting with Trump?
President Begaj: It is true that last week I participated in the proceedings of the UN General Assembly, and during the Assembly a reception was organized by President Trump and the First Lady of the United States of America, attended by heads of state and heads of government. When you meet President Trump, it is always a pleasure and emotion.
But I think that moment of the meeting is worth more than anything else when President Trump speaks in English and says that "Albania is doing a great job."
It is a moment of pride and I believe that this expression is based on our strategic relations and the long-standing friendship between the two countries. I think that under the Trump administration, relations between the US and Albania in terms of cooperation, especially in the economic field, will be strengthened. I think that areas of mutual interest such as the economy related to tourism or energy or relations in the military field will see new recognition and further advancement.
