As the November 9 fever has begun, former President Bamir Topi revealed whether he will accept to run for Mayor of Tirana.
He said that he is very indebted to the capital, but at the moment he has no interest in entering such a competition.
" I have a spiritual relationship with Tirana, which I can never repay. I grew up, I became a man and I made my career in this city. From this point of view, I am indebted. But, towards political interests, not at all. They are indebted to me. We entered an unnecessary race in 2000. All the polls favored the DP candidate in 2000, but he entered a race that weakened him in a way. Whereas in 2003, I had an invitation and I responded: "When I wanted it, you didn't give it to me. Now that you're giving it to me, I don't want it". Today, I have no interest of this nature ", said Topi.
But what is Topi's interest?
" My interest today is to write, to show what those who are in power today, the majority and the opposition, have done to this city. Recently, it has emerged that Tirana was filled with fortresses and Slavic barbarians have come to destroy the historical identity of this region. There are also modern barbarians who are destroying what is left of Tirana. Today we only see Dajti, but nothing of value. The idea is a tower, construction, alienation... ", added the former President.
According to him, his history with politics is finally over.
" I have another project: to write about what I couldn't say in politics ," Topi declared on " A2 CNN ".
