Today, four of the candidates for ambassadors submitted by the government to the Assembly are being presented to the Foreign Affairs Committee.
The opposition has opposed this list, considering it a political point. Democratic deputy Kreshnik Çollaku said that this is an important moment, although he called it a delayed process.
"An important moment that comes after a situation in the training of our political representatives, which exceeded the breakdowns of the law, ambassadors from 80 years is not worthy of a NATO member country. Delayed process. I saw a whole host of names, some I know, some I don't. I understand that with the new law, which forces a n, my concern is not whether someone is more political, or less political. I know that this will happen, if it were us, we would ask for the same thing", said Çollaku.
While the candidate for Albania's ambassador to NATO, Ilir Gjoni, said before the Foreign Commission that Kosovo will be his priority.
"I will work with focus to encourage NATO's attention towards our region as a whole and Kosovo in general. I will guarantee active cooperation with the Ministry of Defense with our country's military engagements in NATO. To thank you for the encouragement. I want to give a guarantee that money comes first in my work and now I tend to the national interests and there will not be a single case that you will notice an element of political bias. At that moment, you can be sure that I will return here and I will not be a representative of Albania. I say it in front of you so that you have it as a fact. We know a good number of you. I have spent half of my life in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I have been working in this sector for 20 years. The issue of Kosovo is not about the main problem that NATO Ukraine has, but about our interest that is related to the region, but specifically to Kosovo.
