The Karagjozlëku with the diaspora was financed by the corruption of Tirana

Investments, media and luxurious parades; a scenario to replace the hope of the diaspora with the paid fools of Albanian politics...

The Albanian state, which at its founding bore the stamp of immigrants, Albanians who fled Ottoman violence and injustice to find a better and more prosperous life abroad, has always had close ties with the diaspora.

The Albanian colonies of Romania, Egypt, the United States of America, but also of Turkey and Thessaloniki, were active not only during the National Renaissance, but also beyond.

The "Vatra" organization of Albanians in America gave a clear stamp to the political, intellectual and Western orientation of the new Albanian state.

Monsignor Fan Noli, with his cultural, diplomatic and theological works, gave Albania an enlightenment that had a direct impact on Western chancelleries. The contribution of the figures of the Albanian diaspora was never reversed, as they gave much and received nothing from the state they helped create. Even today, Noli's remains lie in the USA, while Konica was buried in his homeland in the early 1990s.

The rulers of Albania always used the Albanians of the diaspora, but kept them at a distance and did not reward them for their work and contribution.

In 1990, the Albanian diaspora was not included in the political process after the fall of communism, while in countries in the region such as Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and North Macedonia, many minds coming from emigration were activated. In Albania, only dubious parts of the diaspora, linked to political interests and other countries, were activated.

Thus, Sali Berisha came as an orientation from a suspicious part of the diaspora in the USA, while Greek circles approached and oriented their people towards realizing the objectives of the Hellenization of the south of the country.

In recent years, there have been efforts by the US to activate the Albanian diaspora to contribute to Albania. Well-known prosecutors such as Gjon Juncaj and Suzana Shkreli were brought in to help, with the aim of including parts of the diaspora in the new administration, but this process was blocked from the beginning by a secret alliance of the old political caste.

The majority, with Fatmir Xhafa, drafted frozen rules that defined a career in the judiciary with at least 10 years of experience, while the opposition of Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta blocked any request for the inclusion of lawyers from the West, starting with vetting. A negotiation was staged where the parties were supposed to give in, but the only point where no compromise was made was the legal ban on the employment of Albanians from the diaspora in the Special Prosecution Office and the new courts.

The diaspora's blockage of the new justice system forced the US to postpone the participation of immigrants in politics, allowing only Albanians abroad to vote, but this objective did not have much pressure due to changes in the American administration and global developments.

Edi Rama and Sali Berisha, after the agreement on control of the DP, agreed to allow the diaspora vote, but in a manner controlled by their parties. In this way, the part of the diaspora that was involved in political activity would be controlled by the structures of the SP and DP, while the rest would be hindered.

Another development was the large investment by the old caste in the diaspora in the US to include its most militant and phony part. Both sides, Berisha and Rama, spent large amounts of money to support media and social media personalities, injecting polarization into the diaspora community.

Former ministers, former MPs, former police, military, and administration leaders residing in the US became active in diaspora organizations to exert political influence.

Some characters, like those in the media who relentlessly attack and defend Berisha, or Pëllumb Pilinçi who attacks “all sides”, have become caricatures and make fun of every normal citizen of the diaspora. The evil is deep, as perfidious forms such as luxury car parades and numerous bodyguards are used to transform a sincere desire of the diaspora into a parody.

If Edi Rama wanted, the disgusting parade of "Professor Pilinç" could be reduced, by not allowing his guards to block the roads with ridiculous convoys. But it seems that the goal is precisely to tire and annoy the public, replacing the hope of the diaspora with figures paid by corruption, to serve their masters.

It is the duty of the most vocal and patriotic representatives of the diaspora to denounce this scenario, fighting against the old caste and lobbying at the doors of Washington to support the best part of the diaspora, which can become an important part of the opposition to the old caste./ Pamphlet
