Democratic Party MP Tritan Shehu reacted to the serious case where a 15-year-old girl consumed phostoxin, attempting suicide.
Tritan Shehu calls on the state authorities to take measures to stop the import of this toxic poison by replacing it with other pesticides. He says the cases that end life with phostoxin should have alarmed society.
"Murderers in "activity", the State supports them even with silence! Phostoxin again, attempted suicide tool. In Fier, a 15-year-old girl takes this powerful poison. Fortunately, as communicated, he received medical help within the very short period during which this can be effective. I wish you to live and enjoy full health! How many lives must be lost for the institutions, complicit in the crime, to do their duties:
1- Prohibiting the import of Fostoxin by replacing it in the agricultural pharmacopoeia with other, non-toxic or less toxic pesticides.
2- Prohibition of the sale of this poison as "candy" until its complete disappearance from circulation.
3-Procedures and punishments according to the law of those responsible for the continuation of the import and its criminal trade.
The scale of these tragedies in our country, where phostoxin has turned into a psychological stimulant of suicides, should have alarmed:
- The entire Albanian state, from the highest levels.
- Our media as a whole.
- General public opinion.
Otherwise, the macabre deaths will only continue to multiply, as a strong evidence of the social, psychological, hope crisis, etc. that our country is going through!
