The official Democratic Party will have only one commissioner for the local elections of Kukës, according to the decision taken by the Appeals and Sanctions Commission, which decided today to reject the Democrats' request for a second member.
According to KAS, the State Commissioner of Elections, Ilirjan Celibashi, did not make the right decision, based on the results of the last elections of May 14, in the distribution of commissioners.
According to the chief commissioner Celibashi, the Freedom Party appears as the largest opposition party based on the results of the May 14 elections, which have two commissioners, the official PD one and the largest party SP.
Whereas, based on the official request from DP, the situation is not like this, since the coalition We Win is ranked second in the country, and this does not mean that only the Freedom Party is the second in the country.
Initially, KAS refused to consider the case.
However, the Electoral College, in the meeting held on Friday, September 1, accepted the claim of the Democratic Party and asked the Appeals and Sanctions Commission (KAS) to examine it.
On August 22, DP spokesperson, Mirela Karabina, attacked Celibashin.
"Commissioner Celibashi, once again like in the local elections of May 14, has made a political decision against the Democratic Party and in the service of the political oligarchy, appointing the Freedom Party as the largest opposition party in open violation of the law.
If on May 14 the political transfer of the vote from the Pulpit to the Freedom Party took place, today the commissioner is making the legal transfer, considering the votes of the Democrats as those of the LSI", she said.
