The US Embassy in Tirana has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements the day before that Albania is a country of great interest to China regarding energy issues.
In a comment to Top News, the US embassy appreciates the recent investment made by the American company Clean World Professional for the construction of a wind farm in the Tropoja area with a capacity of 600 megawatts.
At the same time, the embassy emphasizes promoting transparency and justice in Albania, to make the country attractive to American investment.
" The United States Embassy welcomes the progress in CWP's investment, bringing American leadership in energy technology to Albania. We continue to promote transparency and fairness in Albania's regulatory environment to make the country more attractive to American investors ," the Embassy's response states.
While attending a ceremony with the American company Clean World Professional, which is implementing the project to build a wind farm in the Tropoja area with a capacity of 600 megawatts, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the Chinese have their eyes on Albania.
" If Albania were not potentially so important, the Chinese, who are the oldest civilization and the most indisputable traders, would not have set their sights on it and would not consider Albania as the "honeymoon spot" in all of Europe, would they? " declared Rama.
Also present at this event was the US Chargé d'Affaires in Tirana, Nancy VanHorn.
