Gazment Bardhi, after the meeting with the Reestablishment group, has stated that Reestablishment will not participate in the vote on the anti-corruption resolution the next day in the Assembly.
Bardhi said that it should not have been included in the agenda without consultation. Bardhi said that while they were in the meeting, the Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla requested a meeting with the leaders of the groups and the leaders of the opposition parties.
"We know what object this commission has, it is only in Rama's head, he tells the opposition what I have in my head, you should be a part of it. During the time we were in the meeting, the president of the assembly requested a meeting with the head of the group and the presidents and vice-presidents who represent the opposition. A serious institution cannot introduce a commission that must be comprehensive without consulting the opposition. They have come out with the mockery they are doing with this issue", said Bardhi.
Among other things, Bardhi emphasized that without free and fair elections, there can be no fight against corruption, while adding that the commission has no object and this, according to him, is being used for propaganda by Rama.
"We will dedicate ourselves to the fight against corruption and the rule of law. If Rama has the will to fight corruption, let's start with the fight against electoral corruption. Without free and fair elections, there can be no fight against corruption. If they are serious, they should start from this matter. Let's participate in something, a commission that has no object. We have been invited to vote tomorrow on something that we do not know what it contains. It shows how seriously they take the fight against corruption. They have no will but they want to use it for propaganda. They will want to pretend that they are consulting with the opposition. There was no consultation, they did everything as a fait accompli. They pull him to do what they want. As long as they have started it as propaganda to continue on their way, we have our way, the real fight against corruption, but the corrupt cannot promise that he will fight corruption" , declared Bardhi.
Bardhi also said that they will not vote to support the creation of this commission and therefore will not participate.
"We do not vote to support the creation of this commission. When we do not support, how do we give the consensus that we are raised, how can we participate in a commission that raises as Edi Rama wants. Of course I won't go, the meeting time has passed, it was at 1 o'clock, it was postponed to 2. It was propaganda to cast ashes in the eyes of the citizens and internationals", said Bardhi.
Although the establishment of the commission is foreseen in the agenda for tomorrow's session, the Socialist Party may request the withdrawal of the draft decision and postponement to another session pending an agreement with the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party on the composition of the names.
If the agenda in tomorrow's session will not change, only the creation of the commission and not the composition will be approved. The composition with the names of the members of this commission will be left to another session after the agreement with the opposition has been found.
The Opposition itself did not welcome this initiative of the majority, while they also abstained from voting on the resolution.
