The deputy of the Democratic Party, Saimir Korreshi, says that the groups of Sali Berisha and Gazment Bardhi will not allow the meeting of the electoral reform commission on February 6, if the meeting will take place physically.
In an interview for "Tirana Live" on ABC News, Korreshi said that he should go on a hunger strike until, according to him, the situation returns to normal.
Korreshi added that Alibeaj does not represent the opposition in the electoral reform commission.
"I think that the way this electoral reform has started is one of the points where the opposition has risen and is continuing its action in the parliament. I think that the entire composition of this commission will be looked at. So, if there was a real reform, PD and SP could have gone outside, done it with each other, after all, SP has the code and does not want to change it. Parliament must obey the will of the opposition for their representatives. Absolutely yes, we are talking about a parliamentary committee. No, it will not be allowed. I think, in my opinion, we need to change our approach, aggravating the situation. If it were up to me, I believe we should have a hunger strike or hunger strike until the situation returns to normal. There are 650 thousand Albanians who voted against this government in 2021, their voice has representatives. The will of the majority must be done. Alibeaj once became co-president because he had the majority of votes of the opposition deputies, today he is no longer there, someone else is," said Korreshi.
