The former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, appeared at the Special Prosecutor's Office this Friday as part of the security measures imposed on him. After leaving SPAK, he spoke to the media about the checks carried out by BKH yesterday at his home.
Beqaj admitted that the search took place in his apartment, as he confirmed that BKH agents did not find anything in his house.
He emphasized that he had no idea why the check had taken place, but added that the investigation is being conducted for another person. As for the suspicions that he has favored a pharmaceutical company, he said that something like that is not true.
" So far there is no evidence of guilt. Undoubtedly, in the justice system, I am also forced to wait for the court's decision. First, the minister does not make tenders. At the time when I was a minister, I had no financial interest with any pharmaceutical enterprise in Albania or with their owners. I have been dealing with these issues for years. A check was made in my apartment, there was no need to call the lawyer because the things that a normal family has as belongings are there. Those who came and did the check showed me a court decision on the investigation against another person ," he said.
We remind you that yesterday BKH agents raided Beqaj's apartment and the pharmaceutical company, Delta Pharma. The control seems to be related to the suspicions that Beqja has favored the 'Delta Pharma' company, changing the tender criteria, allowing the introduction of uncertified drugs into the country while he was the Minister of Health. / Pamphlet
