DP MP Jorida Tabaku held an interpellation in Parliament with Prime Minister Edi Rama, who delegated the procedure to Minister Delina Ibrahimaj.
Tabaku raised a number of questions in the Assembly about the functioning and transparency of the state corporation, requesting detailed information on the property inventory and the manner of cooperation with private individuals.
"What is the inventory of these properties that this corporation has. On what principles are deals made with private individuals. How are they selected, how is it guaranteed that the corporation is not linked to crime, as happened with the PPP. On what principle was it decided that the Palace of Congresses would be transferred to the Corporation, which will demolish the Palace of Congresses and build towers, or even the 'Zyber Hallulli' children's home, where towers will be built. Therefore, Rama should come and give an account. No transparency. Transparency is required even for a pen, but what about large projects? Why aren't the balance sheets and annual reports published?", she said.
The Democratic MP also raised concerns about specific projects, mentioning the Palace of Congresses and the "Zyber Hallulli" orphanage, for which, according to her, there are plans for the construction of towers.
"On what principle was it decided that the Palace of Congresses would be transferred to the corporation, which could lead to its demolition and the construction of towers? The same goes for the 'Zyber Hallulli' children's home," said Tabaku.
She accused the government of a total lack of transparency, emphasizing that balance sheets and annual reports for major projects are not published.
"I know that there is no value in words here, but I will continue the discussion. 6 years after the creation of the Corporation, it has become clear why a special law was made for it. It is clear why Albania wanted to create a mechanism to bypass the public procurement law.
According to her, the Corporation was created precisely for government officials and their clients.
"They are creating islands of corruption and lawlessness," she emphasized, "challenging" Minister Ibrahimaj to answer even one of the questions.
