The Head of the Supreme State Audit Office, Arben Shehu, is reporting today to the Parliament on the activity of the institution he leads for the year 2024.
He said that the SAI has conducted 159 audits in 205 entities, of which 97 are central units and 75 are local units.
Shehu added that audits have identified violations in public procurement and contract implementation, with irregularities more frequent in procedures at the local level. The head of the SAI stressed that there has been a restriction of competition and delays in contract implementation, as well as the making of additional payments.
"Several audits have been conducted. These audits were conducted in 205 entities, of which 97 central units and 75 local units. Violations in public procurement and contract implementation have been identified. The audits have revealed irregularities in procedures, most frequently at the local level. There has been a restriction of competition, while the implementation of contracts has been delayed. Additional payments have also been made," he said.
