Lefter Maliqi, who on May 11 ran as part of the open list of the 'PD-ASHM' coalition in the Berat District, through a post on social networks, seems to have resentment towards those he considers colleagues, but who are asleep after the elections.
Maliqi even emphasizes that their lethargy endangers the reorganisation of the opposition, and the opposition may even face another defeat in the next elections.
"If the open lists were 100%, how many deputies would we have won from these closed list nominees?? Where are they?! Because we don't see most of them in the media, nor among the people, nor in opposition actions, or are they celebrating the victory without votes with relaxing holidays?!
How many of these were under the balcony, at "Rruga e Shpresës" in support of leader Berisha for 1 year of house arrest? How many of these were at every Opposition Protest? How many of these put their hands in their pockets during the campaign, to take out, not to put in?
How many of these did the Democrats and the opposition feel sorry for 12-13 years without a job? How many of these feel that they morally should resign from political positions rather than from the mandate they 'sought' for in the campaign?
"As an opposition voice, voted by the people twice in a row on the verge of winning the mandate, I feel a responsibility to harshly criticize any lethargy of my colleagues. The opposition must urgently begin action, because they are seriously damaging other electoral processes. We need urgent re-organization at the grassroots level! We need to wake up! We need to react," Maliqi writes.
